We are excited to announce the launch of our brand new campaign #CareToConnect!
We know that care homes are in lockdown, friends and family can’t visit and external entertainment can’t be hired in, so over the last few weeks we have been planning how we could make a difference and help get care home residents connected to video calling and online entertainment.
Isolation and loneliness are already huge issues which impact the elderly and helping to reduce the effects of these is at the very heart of what we do. The social care sector is going through a challenging and scary time right now and key workers are doing their utmost to protect the most vulnerable in society, so we want to show them that we care about them, the home they work in and gift the technology needed to make a difference to the residents in care.
Our target is to deliver 50 Amazon Echo Show devices to care homes. We recognise that Alexa devices are more than just a smart speaker, they are a way of video calling loved ones, assisted living, entertainment and now the easiest way to listen to Radio Reminisce.
With #CareToConnect a business or individual can sponsor an Amazon Echo Show (or as many as they can) and Radio Reminisce will arrange for them to be sent to care homes – or the care home(s) the sponsor has nominated. We will also provide information to help residents get the best out of the device.
We will be announcing all the businesses and individuals who have gifted a device on our Daily Tonic shows and hope to talk with care home representatives that are receiving the device on the show.
We are kickstarting the campaign with a donation of £500. Together we can achieve our target. We can reduce the feeling of isolation, anxiety and loneliness if we come together and #CareToConnect.
