Did you know next month marks National Storytelling Week 2020? It runs from February 1 to 8 and we think it would a great idea to get together in a group, whether in a care home setting or in the family home, sharing your stories with each other!
The awareness day is marked by the Society For Storytelling, who support and promote storytelling in the UK. They provide a central place to find out about storytelling events and run workshops to help you find your voice as a new story teller.
The Society For Storytelling said: “National Storytelling Week is celebrated by all ages enjoying folk tales, fairy lore, figments, phantoms, dragons, serpents and storms at sea, for example. A good teller will conjure intriguingly. So as with every year thus far we begin at the beginning. There was the storyteller… Once upon a time… There will be many exciting events taking place in the run up to the BIG WEEK itself so please check it [their website] out. .We hope to be updating as events come in Please get involved with story in your community.”

Remember, everyone has a story to tell; it could be fictitious or telling the story of a chapter in your life! Maybe let the listener decide if it’s a true or false one!! Sounds like a good excuse for tea, coffee, cake and fun!!!
